The Copenhagen City Guide
This guide brings together Danish influencer Pernille Wilby’s favourite spots in Copenhagen right now — paired with looks that fit each moment, from slow breakfasts and afternoon strolls to evenings out in the city. Rooted in her personal way of experiencing Copenhagen, it’s a reflection of the atmosphere, style, and places defining her summer this season.
We hope it gives you a glimpse into her Copenhagen life — and maybe inspires your own way of exploring it.
Which spots in the city feel the most “you” right now?
I feel most like myself in places that feel calm and natural. I love Atelier September, the newly opened one on Frederiksberg, it has such a beautiful atmosphere and is perfect for a slow breakfast. I also really like Apotek 57, and Polly is especially nice in the morning when the sun hits. For really good coffee, I always go to La Cabra or Louise Roe café.
I’m always drawn to places where you can sit outside, enjoy the sun, and just watch the city, or go for a walk through King’s Garden with an iced latte. Bar Vitrine is another favourite, it has that effortless Copenhagen energy, perfect for a glass of wine with friends and just taking in the atmosphere of the city.
What defines summer in Copenhagen for you - both in mood and in style?
Summer in Copenhagen has a very special energy, it’s something you have to experience to understand. The city feels softer, slower, and more alive at the same time, with long evenings and an effortless atmosphere. My style reflects that. It’s very minimal, with soft tones, light fabrics, and feminine pieces that still feel easy to wear.
What kind of atmosphere inspires the way you dress when you’re out in the city?
I’m inspired by an effortless and understated atmosphere, but still with a chic touch. I’m drawn to clean lines, neutral tones, and pieces that feel easy to wear but still put together.
What details or pieces instantly make an outfit feel more considered?
Fit is everything. I always focus on clean silhouettes, good proportions, and pieces that sit just right. I keep things very minimal, so it’s the small details that make the difference, like soft tones such as butter yellow, which I’m really drawn to at the moment.
How do you transition your look from a relaxed daytime mood to evening plans?
It’s all about elevating it through accessories. A kitten heel and a small clutch instantly make the look feel more refined and evening appropriate.
For dinner, I love places like Mangia, Resto Bar, and Circolo, they all have that same relaxed but still elevated feeling.
